There are those who can afford hiring an interior designer to make their homes impeccably chic. And there are those who rely on Pinterest and Etsy for the DIY ideas.
Even without that creative, professional touch, you too can make elegant centrepieces that will have your guests giving you a pat on the back for your effort and creativity.
Here are some quick, easy ideas for sprucing up your tablescape.
1. Gold on black - Find a handsome black tray and rounded pebbles. Spray paint the rocks in glittering gold. Then, arrange candles in a line on the tray. Fll the empty spaces with your gold stones. This centerpiece is simple and inexpensive, but it exudes utter sophistication.
2. Floating flowers - Take tall clear, glass vases and fill them halfway with water. Then arrange and submerge flowers – choose buds that have sturdier petals such as orchids and lilies – into the vase. Fill up the rest of the vase with water. Arrange this on the table with tea lights and you’re done! You can also use artificial/ silk flowers, too.
3. Branch out – If you’re the type who’s not too much into flowers, go for branches. Take a walk outside and gather a few interesting shaped twigs and branches, and bring them home. Next spray paint them gold. For added pizzazz, you can roll them in gold glitter. Arrange them along the full length of the table and add tea lights to bring together the ambience. For a more feminine touch, you can drape pearl strands over the twigs.
4. Light up your life - For outdoor evening affairs, light up the table by making use of white Christmas lights. Use branches for your centrepiece, then drape the string of lights around the branches. When you switch it on, watch your guests’ faces light up, too.
