Filling up blank wall space can be a challenge, especially when you don’t know where to start.
Get some ideas…
1. Mirror mirror on the wall
This option is a well-known one, and with good reason. Mirrors magnify light and can be found in all shapes, sizes, styles and colors. Large mirrors tend to open up a space - fooling the eye into thinking that the room is bigger than it actually is.
A mirror in direct line of sight from a light source will literally brighten up the space, making it more inviting for your guests.
2. Collections and ornaments on the wall
Many people have collections, and if you do too, then you should consider hanging them on your walls or putting them on shelves. Be it art or sports memorabilia, showing off your hobbies and interests can add a personal touch to your home. Collections can also serve as a conversation piece when you have company over.
3. Corkboard/whiteboard on the wall
A corkboard/whiteboard in a high-traffic area of your home such as the main hallway is a great way to keep your life organized. Seeing grocery lists, appointments and important upcoming activities every time you pass the board not only keeps the idea fresh in your mind but will also encourage you to utilize it since you see it so often.
4. Painting bright and vibrant walls
The simple addition of a bold color adds a dash of character to the room, for example, painting the walls yellow will make a room brighter and feel more alive, while a rich maroon will add elegance and style. Be careful though, overdoing it may make the space feel too busy.
