Located across SM North EDSA, construction of SM Cyber West Avenue has been completed this December, announced its developer, SM Prime Holdings Inc.
A stand-alone office building, the development consists of 15 stories, with 42,941 square meters in floor area, including its basement and roof deck. Infrastructure caters to IT and business process outsourcing (BPO) companies. To date, Emerson Electric (Asia) Ltd. and Synnex-Concentrix Corp., two BPO companies, have already leased 10 floors of the building, with Emerson taking up seven floors and Synnex, three.
Dave Rafael, senior vice president of SM Prime Holdings' Commercial Properties Group (CPG), commended the BPO sector for its contributions to the economy.
"[BPO] provides jobs and boosts Filipinos’ spending power, thereby benefitting other segments of the market such as food, retail, and property,” said Rafael. To this end, said Rafael, SM Prime is keen to return the favor.
“Because of its huge economic contribution, we want to make sure that the BPO sector is well supported by providing its workforce with state-of-the-art office buildings that are accessible and strategically located near public transport systems and lifestyle destinations,” stated Rafael.
Situated along EDSA, SM Cyber West Avenue has access to public transport systems, among them the proposed MRT-7 connecting the existing North Avenue station to a future Intermodal Transportation Terminal in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
Rafael further stated that SM Prime is looking to raise more Cyber buildings in the future. SM Cyber West Avenue, the fourth of its name, comes after SM Makati Cyber One and Two, and SM Cyber Baguio, which opened in 2008 and 2006, respectively.
