There is a lot of furniture to choose from, but you only need a few key pieces to turn your apartment into a home. Get some tips...
1. Bed and mattress
For some people, that is the first thing they check off their list of furniture. Don't scrimp on the bed frame or the mattress. This is one set worth investing in. If you do a great job of choosing the right set, it could last you more than a good few years.
Be it for clothes or books, shelves are a must-have. They keep things in order and in their place so you won’t have to worry about clutter plus, if you go for something out of the box, they can add a decorative edge.
Don't come home to a dark house. This is not just for comfort - a dark home also poses a security risk, as robbers and other invaders may use it to their advantage. Get some lamps to light up your home and create some much needed ambience.
4. Side table
The lamp needs something to stand on, and it's something to keep essentials such as your handbag, keys, and cell phone always within reach. In small studio apartments, the side table can also double up as a desk or even a dining table for the meantime.
Have one good chair to sit on. Make sure it has good back support and a seat that you can see yourself sitting on for long hours if need be. Think of those days when you’ll have to catch up on work from home or when you simply prefer to use your computer at the table instead of the bed.
6. Hat stand
This sounds unusual, especially for people who don't wear hats, but a hat stand is a handy thing to have. The hat stand is a humble little-known space saver. Use it to hang up jeans, coats, scarves or your bags.
