Located in Muntinlupa City, the upcoming South Park District is a 6.6-hectare township anchored on a central park spanning 8,000 sqm. Avida Land, the brains behind the project, has moved forward with the construction of the first residential building in the area: Altura.
Altura South Park District is a two-tower condominium for singles and families looking to live amidst the park's many amenities. The tower has 21 floors with one- and two-bedroom units, which measure 22 to 61 sqm, and sell at P1.9 to P5.9 million. Each unit is cable, telephone, and Internet-ready.
Altura's amenities include adult and kiddie pools, a clubhouse with a function hall, an outdoor fitness area dubbed the "Active Zone," a playground, and retail spaces at the ground floor.
Meanwhile, the district is expected to provide for urban essentials. It has the upcoming Ayala Mall South Park, its main retail feature, and South Park Corporate Center, an office development.
But the park in itself is the district's crown jewel, as its name makes obvious. "The park is the heart of the development," confirms Jojo Fabricante, Avida's Head of Innovation and Design. "It is envisioned to give the city a new dynamic and vibrant place of convergence for people of all ages amidst wide spaces and greenery. It shall be a place for one to refresh, rejuvenate and reinvigorate amidst wide and lush, open spaces and tree-lined promenades and pathways," according to Fabricante.
Focal points include a "contemporary design plaza which features a large water fountain inside an elegant palm court. The grand lawn area adjacent to it, accentuated by iconic sculptures, shall be an ideal venue for rest and recreation," says Fabricante. In addition, there's a special "residential park" for Altura residents, which is "suitable for quieter and passive activities."
The central park and plaza will be open by the end of 2015. Altura Tower 1 and the Ayala Mall are set to open in 2016.
