We all know that cheap does not necessarily
connote quality, but it does sure make shopping for your home quite a thrill.
With cheap items that you can buy at Daiso, The Japan Home Centre and the like,
you can shop to heart’s content – guilt free. And with such unique finds,
you’ll always be inspired to try new things.
Here are a few finds that are less than
P100, which you can use for other practical purposes.
luncheon mat – This is a cheap, temporary fix when you’re looking for an
easy way to store your accessories such as dangling earrings. Simply tie
two strands on both ends of the mat and hang it on your door (or you can
even use hooks). Then, hook your dangling earrings between the slats of
the bamboo mat.
organizers – Instead of storing cutlery organizers in the drawer, mount them
in your closet as an instant jewelry box. Use push pins or nails to hang
baskets – Mount these on the walls for instant floating shelves. The metal
baskets would look well in an urban, rustic apartment. Plastic baskets could
work as well, however, metal baskets are sturdier.
jars and glass containers – Mason jars have never been cheaper thanks to
its popularity and mass production. Keep your makeup brushes neatly stored
in mason jars (without lids) and/ or glass containers. Fill the jar 1/3 to
½ with marbles or fine sand. Then stick your makeup brushes, handle-down,
into the marbles so that the brush fibres are not squished and are allowed
- Rake –
Remove the handle from the plastic rake and then mount it on the wall. The
rungs can be used to hang your bags and necklaces.
