The City of Dreams is also the city that never sleeps. During the recent grand launch held on February 2, 2015, media and guests were feted to a night of extravagant fun which included energetic performances by Kelly Rowland and Ne-Yo. These performances were followed by equally beautiful numbers from local artists like Kyla, Jed Madela, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Gary Valenciano. While the three Hollywood stars- namely Robert de Niro, Leonardo Di Caprio and director Martin Scorcese, who are part-owners of Nobu and who came out in the promotional video of City of Dreams– were a no show, this did not dampen the spirits of the guests that night.
City of Dreams is a $1 billion casino and resort complex that houses a casino, the three hotel chains- the Crown, Nobu and Hyatt; nightclub destinations Pangaea and Chaos, and the world’s first DreamWorks-inspired interactive play space Dream Play. Of course, an array of world-class restaurants and international brands and retail shops will be part of the grand City of Dreams complex.
"Our official Grand Launch finally delivers our stated commitment to bring Manila its first international integrated leisure destination offering. The new resort complex will deliver a diverse collection of contemporary leisure and lifestyle brands from all over the world, including Crown, Nobu, Hyatt and the Pangaea Group, who are behind the world's most successful nightclubs and lounges," Melo Crown Philippines chairman and president Clarence Chung said during the soft opening last year.
The resort complex is located at Entertainment City, Paranaque, which the Philippines is hoping will rival Macau as the region's gaming hub.
