Color Ideas for Kiddie Rooms

Color, color, color. Kids' rooms have to have color: it's the rule of thumb. And unlike the rest of the house, you can go crazy with painting it over. Unleash your creativity. Check out these fun, zany color schemes that'll make your kids' rooms pop:

Lime Green and Pink
Get a garden theme going with lime green to stand for the grass and trees, and pink for the flowers and butterflies. Use black for accent, and some white and pastel yellow to even things up.

Lime Green and Light Blue
Green grass and blue skies: a variation of the eye-popping garden theme. Add yellow and orange as accents, and wood trimmings for some warmth.

Orange, Yellow and White
Choose a light, pastel yellow for the walls, and then accentuate the room with orange trimmings, like decals, or bed covers. Keep some white surfaces and furniture to even things out.

Purple and Yellow
Tread into soothing territory with a rich purple for the walls and a warm yellow for the floor and furniture. Get a lamp with ambient light for the full effect.

Apple Colors
They say you should never put red and green together unless it's for Christmas, but this room is proof that it's a creative risk that pays off. Basically, it's apple colors: a Granny Smith green for the walls, paired with red accents, and some warm wood to round things out. Throw in some patchwork curtains, rugs, or blankets for texture.
