Feng Shui: the art of achieving balance in the flow of energy around you. According to feng shui, objects and their placement in one’s environment will affect the person’s physical and spiritual wellbeing.
It’s similar to how interior decor can stimulate a certain atmosphere. The basics of feng shui often take after common aesthetics. For instance, clutter is considered bad feng shui. Clutter can block the flow of energy, and it’s easy to imagine why: visually, clutter is displeasing, and it can get in the way.
Good feng shui is especially vital in the bedroom. As the space where one replenishes energy by sleeping, it’s all the more crucial to create a that’s conducive to rest and relaxation. See to these three basic tenets in arranging your room:
1) Placement of the bed
For starters, you should be able to see the door from your bed. A view of the door creates comfort and security. Your feet, however, shouldn’t point directly at the door. This called the “coffin position,” which puts you in the path of traffic and activity. As a place for resting, the bed must occupy a space of stillness
and tranquility. Position the the top of the bed against a wall for stability and groundedness. Balance this off with a sense of openness by having your bed easily accessible from both sides.
2) No electronics
Remove electronic equipment like TVs, computers, or exercise machines from your room. Electronics may serve as distractions, and they stand for wakefulness and activity. Strive for a rest-only milieu.
3) Make good use of mirrors
Mirrors play a crucial part in feng shui. Mirrors not only reflect the surroundings; they reflect energy, too. For this reason, hang mirrors where you can’t see your reflection from the bed. Hanging a mirror on a wall next to the bed is said to contribute to nervous energy and sleeplessness.
