Timberland Heights, a project by Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) in San Mateo, Rizal, is poised to receive a new church from the property developer.
The church, which will be in honor of the saint and late Pope, St. John Paul II, is scheduled to have its ground-breaking in the first quarter of 2015.
Among its tributes to the saint were exit doors bearing John Paul II's famous line, "Be Not Afraid," said FLI senior vice president Francis Ceballos.
Additionally, Ceballos mentioned that "the architectural design of the church would easily blend with Timberland’s natural setting creating the mood for devotion and meditation."
Timberland Heights, built on slopes within sight of mountain views in Antipolo, became known as a site for hiking, bird-watching, and mountain bike obstacle courses. From December 29 to 31, 2014, its Nature Club hosted an exhibit with relics of the late saint, which was part of a larger tour by the Office for the Cause for Canonization of Blessed Ivan Merz.
The tour was dubbed "Totus Tuus," the pope's motto, which translated to "totally yours."
FLI are currently working with Bishop Gabriel Reyes of the Antipolo Diocese for the church project.
More additions to the community are set to open in Timberland Heights, among them a satellite organic educational farm park for kids, called Adventure Farms. Also slated for development is the Timberland Outlook Park to provide views of the city skyline.
