The heat is unbearable and the sweat stains on your shirt seem to have become permanent. While taking a shower every half hour would help ease the overwhelming discomfort, it will leave a significant dent on your water bill as well.
Help your body cool down by placing ice packs on specific pulse points. For better ice packs, add rubbing alcohol into the solution to keep the ice from melting for a little longer. We picked up this trick from the pro athletes who have to tend to their little bruises and sore muscles. And the great thing about this new and improved ice pack is that not only does it last longer, but it’s malleable. It can comfortably conform and support. It’s better than your bag of frozen peas, that’s for sure.
Use this tried and tested tip and be relieved instantly.
What you’ll need
High quality Ziploc bags, large
Step by Step
1. Mix two cups of water and one cup of rubbing alcohol and place it into the Ziploc bag.
2. Remove as much air as possible and seal it shut. Place it into another Ziploc bag and you can double the seal by adding a layer of duct tape. Two bags are necessary to catch any leaks in the first one.
3. Pop it into the fridge and let it freeze for about two to three hours. Take note though that due to the differing temperatures needed for freezing water and alcohol, the solution will not freeze solid. The end result will be a gel-like consistency.
4. When ready to use, wrap the ice pack in thin linen and apply to pulse points like your forehead, neck, wrists, inside elbow, groin, back of the knees, and etc.
Make two ice packs or more at a time so that when one starts to melt, you can switch it with a new one from the fridge.
