When planning to build our own homes, we’ve all imagined exercising our green thumb and tending a beautiful garden. But as we work for our dreams at the office, it sometimes leaves us with very little energy and time left for actual gardening. But a compromise can always be met. While you may have to surrender your ideas of replicating the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, you can, however, settle to tending a smaller plotted garden of pretty blooms and healthy bushes.
You can start your garden small and eventually grow it to the size that you can comfortably maintain. Here are some sturdy, easy-to-grow plants that need little maintenance, perfect for the busy homeowner.
1. Bonsai – These miniature trees are great as indoor plants as they not only serve as an interesting décor peace but they also bring good energy into a space. Some varieties of bonsai plants require very little water, and pruning can be done every few weeks or months.
2. Herbs – Herbs like parsley and mint can easily be grown in containers and can be easily transported thus are convenient plants for travelling individuals. Plus, the particular scents of the different herbs make them a wonderful addition in the kitchen or outdoor garden area. Of course, you can use them for cooking, too!
3. Cactus – The cactus plant is one of the most overlooked, underrated plants in the world. But when it blooms, it can very well be considered very pretty in its own way. It’s perfect for people on the go as it needs very little water and even less attention.
4. Orchids – These lovely blooms come in array of pretty hues and are native to our country so they deal well in the tropical heat. Contrary to what many believe, though orchids are a tropical plant, they only need to be watered every five to 12 days.
