Megaworld Corp.'s 20th township is in the works and the company has set aside P65 billion for the project, according to a press release.
Previously billed as Bayshore City Resorts World, the project, now Westside City, is set to rise on 31 hectares in Parañaque's Entertainment City, the "Las Vegas of Manila."
Westside City is an integrated leisure and casino hub with nine luxury residential towers, an upmarket mall, several hotels under international brands, and the second Resorts World in the Philippines. The country's first Grand Opera House, equipped with 3,000 seats, is also poised to rise within the estate.
"Part of the company's vision for Westside City is to become the 'Broadway of Asia,'" stated the company in a press release. Megaworld head Andrew Tan expressed, "We are very excited to see Westside City rising to be a showcase of Manila as a truly world-class Philippine capital."
Westside City stands as Megaworld's second leisure and entertainment township after Newport City in the south of Manila. It is a joint project with Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc., Tan's hotel company and the owner and operator of Resorts World Manila. Completion is set for the last quarter of 2020.
Megaworld's flagship developments include Eastwood City in Quezon City, McKinley Hill and Forbes Town Center in Fort Bonifacio, The Mactan Newtown in Cebu, Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, Davao Park District in Davao City, Alabang West in Las Piñas, and Southwoods City in Cavite and Laguna.
