Throwing a soiree is fun and all, but having to clean up after your guests the next day is such a pain in the balls.
Don’t let the thought of manual labor dampen your festive cheer! Here are a few nifty cleaning hacks to make your post-party clean-up memorably convenient:
Sanitize your Microwave Oven
Your microwave is a godsend when entertaining guests and relatives from out of town. Constant reheating, however, can cause odors to linger inside your oven. Neutralize these unwanted scents by placing a bowl with one part malt vinegar and three parts water. You’ll be glad you did.
Remove Wine Stains
When people tell stories during parties with their wine glasses in tow, spirited discussions tend to end up in a flurry of hand gestures, accidental spillage, and unwanted stains on your carpets or designer sofas. Don’t sweat it! Apply lemon juice on the stain, sprinkle salt, and then leave out under the sun to dry. Within a few hours, the stain will fade just like the crease in your forehead.
Cure Wooden Floor Scuff Marks
Too many guests at get-togethers can cause unsightly scuff marks on your pristine hardwood floor. Fear not, since rubbing chestnuts on the scuffing will hide the damage. Afterwards, roast leftover chestnuts from the bag and forget that whole thing ever happened.
