Max’s Group of Companies recently announced plans to try their hand at the hotel industry with a 60-room, 12-storey hotel in the works.
Billed as The Meranti, the hotel will be built across the first Max’s Restaurant in the country, located along Scout Tuazon in Quezon City. The hotel will open within the first half of 2015.
Known for Max's Restaurant, the company is keen to bring their innovation and experience in the service industry to another field, according to Jim T. Fuentebella, director and chief marketing officer of the Group.
“We’re in the service industry. It’s a reflection of the group’s appetite for innovation to extend the service platform that we know – not to replicate the service platform in Max’s, but a service platform fit for a hotel,” said Fuentebella in a statement.
According to Fuentebella, the hotel will be marketed to “balikbayans” who “are used to having their own space.”
Director and chief finance officer Dave T. Fuentebella issued that the hotel is “meant to complement our branch in QC because it’s big and that’s our main branch.” He emphasized as well that the hotel is not the first of many – the Group has no plans to expand to the hotel industry as of the moment.
“We want to capitalize on the growth of tourism but [we have] no concrete plans for expansion yet," said Fuentebella.
