Perfect gifts for new homeowners

The hardest and yet most exciting part of gift-giving is shopping around for the perfect one. One of the hardest occasions to decide what to give is moving-in celebrations. New homeowners, fresh from taking their vows, are beginning a new life together, so you must consider a gift that is not only thoughtful and functional, but something that meets the tastes of the homeowners.

Based on newlyweds and wedding gift registries, here are some items you might want to consider.

First, let’s talk about the big ticket ones. These are the types of items that you can share the purchase with friends or even the family, since they can be quite expensive. But they are, nonetheless, very useful.

Appliances- It can be a fridge, stove oven, or a washing machine. These are basic appliances, which can last for years. While most homes need only one piece of each appliance (for example, one fridge, one stove, etc), electric fans are the exception. In a country such as ours, electric fans are placed in every corner of the house. Regardless of the appliance you choose, make sure that you get the energy-efficient ones to help them save on electricity.

Furniture sets- Whether it be a lounge set in the living room or a dining room set  that shall serve as one of the house’s focal point, it will surely make couples extremely delighted. Make sure you get the sizes of the rooms first though to avoid creating cramped spaces

Now, it’s time to talk about the little things you can purchase on your own. Let’s work with items needed in the two most frequented places in the house.

Bedroom–Some of the helpful gifts you can give are pillows, blankets, linen sets or bedside tables and lamp. For something more luxurious, invest in linens made with a 300-thread count.

Kitchen- Among the most wanted on the registry are cutlery sets, champagne flutes, kettles, plates, and glasses. Depending on whether the new homeowners are avid cookers, you may also gift them with beginner cooking and baking sets.

If you’re not to acquainted with the homeowners, choosing more generic gifts – that are still functional – like decorative mirrors, glass vases, table covers and the like would still be very much appreciated.
