Members of the Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines (REBAP) BGC show that their sense of social responsibility by contributing something to our society.
For this year, REBAP BGC pitched in BRIGADA ESKWELA, a program by the Department of Education (DepEd). Also known as National Maintenance Week, various volunteers troop schools around the country to help in the maintenance of clean and safe environments for the nation's youth to learn in.
In an interview, then Education Secretary Armin Luistro said, “The annual Brigada Eskwela is our version of modern ‘bayanihan’ where all sectors pitch in to make sure that our schools are clean, safe, disaster-prepared and conducive to learning when students troop back to the schools in June.”
Members of REBAP BGC were among the many to volunteer for Brigada Eskwela 2016 in Ususan Elementary School in Taguig City last May 30, 2016.
Over 8 million people have participated in Brigada Eskwela from 2010 to 2015.
This year's theme for Brigada Eskwela was "Tayo Para sa Paaralang Ligtas, Maayos, at Handa Mula Kindergarten Hanggang Senior High School” (All of us for safe and proper schools, and ready from Kindergarten to Senior High School). DepEd aims to unite communities for the purpose of ensuring a better future for the next generation.
The program comes at a critical time in the country's education system with the incoming full implementation of the K-12 program.
