Small apartments and condo units are characterized by small bedrooms. These compact bedrooms have become a common challenge for many homeowners, especially when it comes to storage. Here's how to maximize your bedroom storage...
Night tables with decorative bases are beautiful and charming in their own right. However, with limited bedroom space, you may have to take advantage of what you have. Don’t waste the precious space under your decorative night table. Instead, choose a night table with drawers and storage under the tabletop to hold books, mobile phone chargers, remote controls and the like. For tiny bedrooms without much storage elsewhere, bedside storage is your answer.
Some small bedroom spaces may not be able to afford enough floor area to include bedside tables. In these cases, it may be more of an advantage to go for a custom-made bed. Allot a bigger depth for the headboard ledge which will be used in lieu of the night table. Having an eight to twelve inch headboard depth is enough for landing space which will house essential night table items such as mobile phones, pocket books and reading glasses. Instead of your typical bedside table lamps, go for wall sconces or wall-mounted reading lights.
For compact bedrooms, storage space is often limited. Consider the possibilities of incorporating storage space under your bed, as this is often just wasted space anyway. It can be a great storage space for books, keepsakes or even folded clothes. Some ready-made beds have under-bed storage, but there may not be many design options for such. A custom-made bed with under-bed storage may be the best way to go.
